Commercial Description:
Bottled, Occasional;
Start with malted barley grown in the fields of Scotland where wind and rain meet a strong brewing tradition. Then hops lend that full flavor and distinctive fragrant aroma of well-hopped beers. Then, add in the fact that the ingredients are organic. Notice the golden color and signature clean, crisp taste of this world-class pale ale. The fine pale ale in this beer is not only recognized as one of the finest organic ales in the world, it is also vegan friendly. Slainte!

Bought at Trader Joe’s. Clear amber gold with a nice frothy active 2 finger head. Lots of visible carbonation. Aroma is grain, caramel malt, and honey. Despite the commercial description hops are not noted in the aroma. They are tasted and add bitterness and only a small amount of tartness. There is more caramel, cardboard, and grain. A bit of biscuit as well. Finish is dry and just a bit soapy. This is probably classified correctly here. It is crisp and refreshing.

Light honey colored, pours a thickish head but it quickly dissipates. Aroma of slightly bitter hop, some malt, apricot and a bit of citrus. Palate is crisp but a bit thin. Flavor is not overly hoppy, some florals, a hint of peach and a slight peppery hop. Bit of a bitter finish but not too bad. Neither the aroma or the flavor is particularly memorable, but the beer is definitely drinkable.

Golden coloured body with a slightly off-white head. Aroma of slight hops, fresh malt and some alcohol - not much though. Medium-bodied; Very light hoppy flavour with some yeast, malt and cardboard coming through - very mild tastes. Aftertastes shows sweetness with very light hoppiness - nothing too pleasant. Overall, not such a good beer and very mild - good for folks that like mild tastes, but not one for people who enjoy EPAs or APAs! I sampled this 500 mL bottle purchased at Trader Joe’s in Falls Church (Bailey’s Crossroads), Virginia sampled the same day - 23-May-2009.

Pours a slightly hazy orange (and a little green?) with a small head. The nose had some peach, sugar, butter, and cream. The taste was a bit of a letdown after such a strong nose, with some doughy tones, and a slightly awkward bitter finish. Drinkable, enjoyable, and forgettable.

Golden orange with a very slight haze, strong one-finger head and ok lacing. Mild buttery malt smell, with only a hint of resinous hops. Bready malt flavors, slightly acidic, with lingering hops notes well into the aftertaste. Nicely carbonated, but all-in-all, pretty forgettable.

Pours hazy amber, with a thick off-white head. Noticeable hop and malt in the aroma, with a little off notes. Full body, with a bit of grain in the finish.

Bottle from Trader Joe’s, Cincy. Poured clear golden color with large white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate grainy and small malt aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium balanced flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable session brew.
