4. Cask Handpump at the Penny Black, Northwich 27/01/2004
Golden hoppy and citrus. Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England May 9, 2005 Comes out on burns day, and is always a good beer to have on. One of cali’s better ales, a slightly different taste to the usual, overpowering hoppiness, though it is still there. Some malt maybe even yeast to make a different and refreshing change.
One to try if your about on burns day. omhper (12155), Stockholm, Sweden Feb 28, 2005 Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pale amber. Sweaty orange peel aroma. Sweet and sugary. Medium bodied with soft mouthfeel and a fair amount of lemony hops. Medium bitterness. Rather one-dimensional. Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 9, 2005 [Cask at Christian IV, Odense] An orange beer with a small white head. The aroma is light flowery like a bitter. The flavor is sweet with notes of flowers, hops, and caramel. Nice bitter. MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Feb 4, 2005 Cask. Very flowery aroma. Dark golden colour. Very flowery flavour, a bit like elderflower, but in the good way, not the crappy way. Also with a hint of tea. OK bitterness in the aftertaste. JonMoore (1561), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England Jan 26, 2005 Cask at the Moon and Bell, Wetherspoons, Loughborough. Golden colour with a white creamy head. Fruity and caramel taste, medium bodied, very drinkable. Pretty good. joolesc (1), England does not count Jan 26, 2005 @ Wetherspoons Woking (one of the good ones). Good condition and temperature. Lightly fragrant, dry with floral and cirtus initial flavour, going to malty finish. Would go back for more.
