Commercial Description:
A dark red (almost black) ale that's slightly less sweet than your average nut brown, with up front rich malty flavor and light tones of chocolate. The ale finishes moistly in the back of the mouth.

Calling this beer a brown ale did not seem apropriate to me. The appearance and taste were more like a porter. Very dark brown to black with strong taste and smell of chocolate. There were some nutty and caramel flavors but chocolate was most dominate. Still, pretty tasty.

Pours dark brown with average tan head. Slight amount of nuts and caramel in the aroma. Roasted malt and chocolate in flavor. I agree it is probably their best brew, but just slightly better than average.

Draft. Nice aromas of chocolate and nuts. Flavors were good too, with some mocha in there. A new favorite of the house beers.

Pours with a dark brown body with red tinting topped by a medium thick head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet and malty with a nice roastiness and a touch of nuttiness. A pretty good brown. Medium bodied, smooth and slighlty dry.

Dark murky brown with a modest fast fading light brown head. Aroma is light and sweet with a hint of freshly brewed coffee. Flavor is sweet at the start followed by a hint of coffee/cocoa and finishing lightly tangy and dry. A tad thin on the palate, but a nice session brown. This is probably Callahans best brew.

Nutty caramel flavor, extremely dark in color. Fairly sweet with caramel and coffee flavors (maybe inspired by Rogue Hazelnut). Pretty impressive brown.

Brown with small head. Light mellow malt taste with short burst of hops at end.
