Opague. Apple aroma. Sugary sweet with roasted malt and a touch of lactic sourness. Apple dumplings. A minor Belgian classic.

Opaque black, small brown head. Lemony and roasted aromas. Sweet, carbonated - sugary. A bit plastic like taste in the low alcohol beer. Not very good example of stout.

Bottled. Transparently black with rich, brown head. Very sweet with notes of pineapple and other fruits. Light bodied with creamy mouthfeel and a hint of saccharaine. Well made and with many positive aspects, but why so extremely sweet?

(Bottle 33 cl) Comes in an unusual but very pretty bottle with the brewery seal in it. Very dark, almost black, with a massive brownish head. Roasted malty aromas with a touch of chocolate cookies. The sweetness is predominant but never cloying. The hops and the bitter malts level things out. A sweet stout - sort of a rare style for Belgium. 140398

bottle Black body. Frothy-rocky, large, brownish head, which is fully lasting. Excellent lace. Malts in the nose (caramel). Lightly bitter, lightly sweet initial flavour. Lightly bitter finish. Lightly to medium bodied.

Bottled. Purchased at Delirium Cafe. Dark brown to near black body with a small brown head. Nose is sweetened cocoa with light hops, licorice, roasted malt, and chocolate. Taste is sweet with milk chocolate, faint coffee and raw sugar. Very sweet taste. Body is light and slightly creany. Finish is bittersweet chocolate. Not very good, but not horrible either.

Sour malt, acrid smoke aroma. Sour chapstick. Dark black clear with rim of tan lacing head. Light body with mild carbonation. Light malt and very sugary. Like weak faro version of a black beer. No depth, too sweet, and poorly balanced.

Dark colour, giant head. Classic roasted malt aroma, subtile, fresh. Sweet, good malt, cookies. Ordinary palate, the bitterness comes out after a while, and so the caramel. Pleasant sweet stout, missing a stronger hop character.
