dkachur (2313), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Nov 27, 2008 From a sampler at the brewpub. Pours a golden amber color with a medium head. Honey-like grain aroma. Taste is primarily grainy with some honey-like notes and bitter and fruity hop notes. Medium bodied. MaltDawg (778), Richmond, Virginia, USA Oct 6, 2008 Sampler at brewery. Slight pale malt aroma. No hop aroma. Clear golden with fine white head. Light caramel and pale malt flavor. Medium body and mouthfeel. Low hop and fruitiness. Clean finish. Honey notes are hard to detect. Very clean refreshing sessionable beer. waveman352 (178), Walden, New York, USA Nov 6, 2007 Draft @ Cally’s. Very light yellow straw color with a slight honey aroma. Very grainy and quite unimpressive. There lightest beer that they had when i was there, certainly they have better things to drink. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA Nov 5, 2007 On tap at Cally’s. Clear golden blond body with a medium creamy white head. Sweet grainy aroma with light honey. Very sweet honey flavor, light grainy ending. Fairly smooth body with medium high carbonation. dmtroyer (407), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 19, 2007 Draft at Cally’s. Probably wouldn’t have tried this in the first place other than another rating on ratebeer :-) Fairly lackluster, clear golden pour with a slim white head. Good carbonation, but that’s about it. Really have to stretch myself to find something in this one. Probably cally’s easiest drinking beer next to their american wheat. Strykzone (1458), Wood River, Illinois, USA Mar 5, 2006 Pretty nondistinct beer. Had to work to find the aroma and flavor. Calhouns weakest link of the beers available now. It could have been a Busch. walter (359), Staunton, Virginia, USA Dec 16, 2005 Draft at the brewpub, labeled Blonde Ale instead of Honey Blonde Ale. Medium golden color with white head. Aromas of light malt, copper, and faint floral hops. Flavor is very lager-like malt with a crisp, slightly bitter finish. Surprisingly good, and certainly heavier than I would think a macro-lite drinker would wish, especially at 5%. Kinz (2179), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Jun 25, 2005 Medium to deep gold, good head, no real aroma at all. Sort of an inoffensive "beer" flavor, touch of grain, predominate note is just a general sweetness. This is definitely the beer on tap for the Budmiloors crowd. Not my bag.
