Callys Kolsch

Thanks to dkachur for sharing. Clear yellow with a thin head. Aroma was spiced honey and hops. Taste was the same with a sweet finish.

From a sampler at the brewpub. Pours a pale straw yellow with a thin head, low retention and poor lacing. Grainy aroma of honey and bitter hops. Taste is grain, bitter hops and honey. Medium bodied.

On tap at brewery. Clear bright yellow with a fizzy white head. Faint vanilla grain aroma and taste with a brassy finish.

From growler, with Kinz. Crystal clear golden body with a small frothy white head. Sweet grassy aroma with some light malt. Clean malty flavor with some honey and grassy hops. Medium light body with moderate carbonation and a smooth clean finish.

Finally got to sample this, thanks to Rob and his growler. Poured a brilliantly clear medium towards light gold, slight head. Aroma was faintly of clean malts. Flavor was straight clean malt and a very light touch of slightly floral hops. Dry finish. This was exactly what I expect from a Kolsch, and I was very pleasantly surprised at how clean the flavor was. Very well done.

Draft at Cally’s. Hazy straw yellow tending to gold. Not much in the nose, flavors of corn, straw, grass and a touch of lemon/lime citrus. Pretty refreshing, a light style.

Draught at the brewpub. Pours pale yellow with rising carbonation, faint white head. the aroma resembles lemongrass with some sweet honey. The flavor is an odd mix of honey, corn, and freshly-mown hay. It dries out a little toward the finish and leaves a grassy aftertaste.
