dmtroyer (409), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 4, 2008 Draft at Cally’s. Per the Brewmaster this is a Münich Lager and not a helles. Pours deep straw with a dense white head that lasted throughout the pint glass. Not much on the nose, a bit of bread and citrus from the hops, not much else. The body of this beer is bordering on the best I have had from Cally’s, there is significant bread from the yeast, some honey and nice dry and long bitter finish from the hops. Crazy carbonation leaps up the side of the glass. This is a great example of a lager that is still medium-bodied and flavorful. All that said, I’m a bit unsure as to why they used the umlaut in the English spelling of Munich (München in German).
