UPDATE -- they also offer a limited time "Bourbon Barrel Aged" version of the Plowman Porter.

Jun 11, 2005 pours dark with scant head. nose is roasty and hoppy. flavor is coffee/roasted malts but with the bitterness of hops. flavor lacks in my opionion...i think its the lack of depth or its apparent thinness that get me. curious.

Jul 1, 2004 Deep and dark, a bit red, mocha head that sticks around. Roasty nose. Good coffee character in the roasts, bit bitter. Very good stuff.

Jul 1, 2004 On tap at the Old Dominion Brew Fest. Deep, dark body with a tan head. Sweet, some caramel, and roasted malt in the aroma. Nice flavor. Very impressive...and quite tasty!

Jun 27, 2004 On tap at ODBF 2004... Crystal clear, very, very dark, burnt orange ale with a small, creamy, khaki-colored head. The aroma is of chocolate, coffee and light smoke. The flavor is decently bittered and balanced, but bland and thin. Hints of chocolate and instant coffee. Light-to-medium-bodied with a dry mouthfeel. Short, crisp, clean finish.
