on tap-pours a light brown head and black color. Aroma is roasty dark malt-chocolate/molasses, some earthy hops. Taste is roasty oat/dark malt-chocolate/molasses, with a backbone of earthy hops. Good carbonation. Not my style, but well done. Full body.

On tap at ODBF 2004... Crystal clear, very, very dark, burnt orange ale with a small, creamy, khaki-colored head. The aroma is of chocolate, coffee and light smoke. The flavor is decently bittered and balanced, but bland and thin. Hints of chocolate and instant coffee. Light-to-medium-bodied with a dry mouthfeel. Short, crisp, clean finish.

On tap at the brewpub. Very smooth, with lots of espresso coffee and cooking chocolate. Fair amount of bitterness, but a touch of sweetness too. A pleasant, solid effort.

Black body. Slick nitro head. The aroma is faint, but the flavor is a bit of espresso, some chocolate and a touch of butterscotch.

Deep and dark, a bit red, mocha head that sticks around. Roasty nose. Good coffee character in the roasts, bit bitter. Very good stuff.
