Nov 30, 2009 on tap-pours a light brown head and black color. Aroma is roasty dark malt-chocolate/molasses, some earthy hops. Taste is roasty oat/dark malt-chocolate/molasses, with a backbone of earthy hops. Good carbonation. Not my style, but well done. Full body.

Jun 27, 2004 On tap at ODBF 2004... Crystal clear, very, very dark, burnt orange ale with a small, creamy, khaki-colored head. The aroma is of chocolate, coffee and light smoke. The flavor is decently bittered and balanced, but bland and thin. Hints of chocolate and instant coffee. Light-to-medium-bodied with a dry mouthfeel. Short, crisp, clean finish.

Jul 1, 2004 Deep and dark, a bit red, mocha head that sticks around. Roasty nose. Good coffee character in the roasts, bit bitter. Very good stuff.
