Draught: This one pours a brownish dark amber color. Mine had very little head to it. I found the aroma to be a little thin, even after I let it warm up from its ice cold pour. I did get some spices and a bit of caramel malt to the nose. The taste came off as sweet. There was caramel malt sweetness to it, but it tasted overly sweet, almost like it had a half a spoon of sugar in it. There was a fair amount of spiciness and a hint of hops, but not near enough to cover up the sweetness. Just OK

Draft. Deep amber color with offwhite head. Subtle nose of pumpkin pie spice, ginger, nutmeg, slight citrus and earthy hops, rich dark fruit malt, and yeast. Flavor is very well-balanced, with the spices accentuating rather than dominating a thick, rich and slightly bitter malt. Full mouthfeel, with clove and nutmeg spice in the finish. Subtle all around, and very well done. This batch is 7.7% abv.

Wow, this one is great and even better as it warms. Loads going on here, spices that really do speak well to the name. It has a great dark colour and some excellent spice coming off the aroma. Enjoyable.

pours dark with slight head. as with calhouns other offerings, this brew is strong on the hops. also great spice character in addition to the roasted malts. very much like their Plowman Porter with the addition of the spices - clove, cinnamon, etc. a decent brew.
