Commercial Description:
This medium bodied beer is amber to copper color. The taste is a sweet caramelly malt flavor, and is moderately hopped. Traditionally an Irish recipe, our amber beer uses 4 different barleys with an ample supply of caramel malt.

So I drove by this brewery about 5 times before I found it. A little hole-in-the-wall bar with cool locals and outstanding beer. Every small town should have a bar like this.

Clear amber with small off-white head. Aroma is caramel/toffee, light sweet, slight herbal. Taste is medium sweet caramel/toffee. Finish is toffee and herbal/grassy bitter. Light/medium body.

sampled at brewpub-Chilton, WI. Overall, pretty standard for the par, but definate cascade hops in the finish(even the brewer said so!!)

Had a pitcher of this at the eight-lane Pla-Mor Lanes in Chilton. Wasn't too fond of it at first, but its flavor developed more after a few sips. It kind of grew on me. I'm not a big fan of ambers, but this was very drinkable.

Pretty simple amber with a slight vinegary edge that I didn’t like.

Here is my sad, sad story. I traveled all the way to Chilton as part of my holiday travels and the brewery was closed. Yup, no Calumet Dark for this pilgrim, this go round. Instead, I wandered aimlessly around Chilton until I came to a bar with two Calumet brews on tap - the barmaid seemed very suspicious and dismissive when I ordered them both simultaneously. This one was the lesser of the two - boring, basic malt with a little more body than most and a decent mouthfeel.

Slight caramel nose/flavor, buttered popcorn, very smooth, good sweet/dry balance at the end.
