Jul 2, 2003 Clear mahogany with small off-white head. Aroma is mild sweet, nutty. Taste is malty -- roasty, nutty, medium sweet, constant flavor throughout. Solid medium body.

Jan 26, 2003 This is just like all Rowlands beers, lots of good, well rounded malts. The nutty profile is there, but not overwhelming. Also goes down smooth, of course.

Dec 29, 2002 Pretty undistinguished brown; one of just a couple of below-average samples from Calumet, and still its better than the best from a few micros that I’ve had. On the sweet side, rather thin, little aroma.

Apr 17, 2007 Fourth stop during Wisconsin Trip #2 and one of 11 brews offered at this small town brewpub. Pours a dark brown brew with an off white head. Head disappears at an average speed with excellent lacing. Armoa scents picked up include caramel, Toll House chocolate chip cookies with walnuts, bananas and roasted barley malt. Taste is smooth and sweet with light carbonation. Most excellent!

Aug 6, 2005 Dark mahogany body. Thin white head. The aroma is roasted walnuts and almonds. The flavor is roasted malts and English walnuts. The palate was rich and well balanced to the style.

Apr 28, 2003 probably my second fav of the batch. Definately one of teh better brown ales i have ever had, probably because im not that much of a fan of this style. What chimaybabe says goes!

Aug 19, 2008 Pours a dark copperish colour with a noticeable coffee aroma. Cinnamon, walnuts and ginger in the flavor. Semi sweet, lightly roasted coffee beans. Perfect for the style, but wish it was just a tad heavier and creamier.
