phishpond417 (1861), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Aug 19, 2008 This beer pours a dark clear copper colour with a medium sized tan head. Mouthfeel is creamy and delightful, rich taste, soft and nutty with lightly roasted malts. Semi sweet. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Mar 28, 2008 On draught at the brewpub in downtown Chilton, Wisconsin. Pours a clear reddish amber brew with a creamy off-white head that has some nice retention and sticky lacing. Aroma of powdered amber malt, a touch of light yeast and flowery hops. Taste is light to medium bodied, some fruity character of apples, light caramel malt and citrus zest hops. Finish is slightly dry, a light metallic texture and thin caramel malt aftertaste is just barely noticeable. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 06/24/2007

clear amber, wispy beige head, drippy lace,
sweet caramelized malt aroma,
rich malt flavor that lasts from beginning to end, nice sweetness from the richness but a light bitterness keeps it from being too sweet,

Jabswitch (206), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jan 23, 2006 Updated: Mar 2, 2007Paid my first visit to Rowlands on a beautiful winter Saturday. Started with the Irish Red. Poured darker than expected. Not a bitter beer by any means. Had a light-medium sweetness and medium body. Not overly sweet though. Picked up a growler and brought it to a buddies place. Everyone enjoyed it. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Aug 9, 2005 Sort of a generic amber - caramel malt with light hops. I hope this is long enough for the filter. 1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Aug 6, 2005 Deep red colored body. Tough to get an aroma on this one. Grains, toasted barley, lager profiles. Malty. Medium bodied. Bottom fermented. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jun 26, 2005 Transparent amber with a creamy off-white head. Nice sweet caramel aroma, reminding me of the dough from a honey bread. Flavor is nutty and highlights the toasted and caramel malts. There’s a pumpernickel dinner roll dimension to this. Amble bitterness. We’re not at a robust level here, but this is certainly complex for its genre. Dry, bitter finish with a walnut shell aftertaste. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA May 22, 2005 Reddish/orange body, slightly dark. White creamy ring around glass. Odd sweet watermelon start, turns into general sweet malts and very slight hop taste. Okay.
