JPDIPSO (4863), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Aug 24, 2007 Copper color with a smaller off white head. Aromas of dark caramel and lightly yeasty dough. Light darker malt flavors with light caramel and a hint of wild honey. Not strong in the rye department as the feel and light spicy rye bite were not in the forefront. Again a very easy drinking brew. Skyview (4007), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Apr 17, 2007 Fourth stop during Wisconsin Trip #2 and one of 11 brews offered at this small town brewpub at any time. This brew pours a coppery brown color with an off-white small head. Nice lacing after the head retraction. Aromas include nutty bready, roasted grain and plenty of sweet pine. A very hoppy charged rye brew per se. At the palate some secondary tastes include bubblegum, and candy sugar. Very smooth and silky finish. Kevin (1917), Colorado, USA May 2, 2006 copper pour. sweet nose of candy. nice sweet flavor that lingers. toffee flavor and sweet rye. bubble gum note in the finish. a nice brew. BCAR (216), Naperville, Illinois, USA Oct 11, 2005 Medium caramel color. Extremely sharp flavor-peppery, grapefruit. From other raters, I’m getting the impression Bob changes things up every time he makes a new batch of the same beer. This could never be described as a normal lager or nothing one wouldn’t remember. Hits the back of the tongue and you’ll notice it. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Aug 9, 2005 Very good flavor - dry, crisp rye flavor with a fest-like nutty malt backing. Balancing hops. 1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Aug 6, 2005 Pours to a nice copper color. Rye grains are prominent in the aroma. Light pepper. The flavor is dominated by rye. Good grass hops but I wish they’d dry hop the hell out of this beer. Touch of banana (probably not actually there). Toasted and roasted malts. Light touch of white pepper. A nicely made beer. The palate was medium bodied, smooth, and velvety.
