Commercial Description:
This beer was first introduced in May 1993 at our "Annual Beer Fest." It was the first commercial Rye beer sold in Wisconsin. The recipe was developed in conjunction with the head maltster, Roger Nelson, of Briess Malting Co. in Chilton. A smooth flavored beer with a hint of Rye.

On tap with Bob. Orangish beer with a bit O head. Really crisp and spicy aroma. Not so sweet to my palate, but toasty and crisp. Not as dry as other roggens I’ve had, but way out in front as far as compexity. Very nice.

Translucent orange with a white rim around the edges and an oily splotch in the center. Aroma is sweet caramel, sourdough and potato buns. Sweet and syrupy flavor dimensions. Red rye leads the way and paves a course that’s sweet and light. Reminds me of honey on rye toast. Noble hopping is prevalent. Some apple vinegar lingers in the background. Tingly, bitter syrupy finish.

Fruity rye taste. Yeah... that’s it. Pretty sweet, but good flavor in that sweetness. Not much raw dark rye though, like other "rye" beers. It also had a crisp lager feel going on.

Another of my fav’s from Chilton. This beer taste like whiskey, which is probably why I like it so much. Also, the older local I was talking to that was really cool loved it.

I went to my home town the other night and there was noone out that I knew. So instead of hanging with the hicks in Cheers I got the idea to hit up my good friend Bob Rowland for a couple of brews, since he was the only person in any of the bars in chilton that I actually new. I was trying various beers and asked Bob which one I should try and he smiled and said, "Rye." I was like, " Wow Bob your a poet, way to go!" Well once I got my beer I drank it and it was good. It was amberish in color and clear. Very tasty. I would recommend to everyone to try this beer and hangout with Bob. Bob wanted me to try some of his other beers, but I was kind of getting tipsy, so I said, "No Bob, It's Ok, I will be back later. I don't want to drive too drunk tonight." I hate Chilton hicks, especially all the old ones who hang out at cheers and drink shitty bud light. Well I guess it's like I always say, "I would rather drink good beer than hang out with stupid hicks who drink bud light at Cheers."

Clear amber with small white head. Aroma is rye, medium sweet. Taste is mild up front, turns nicely rye at mid body until finish; medium sweet. Nice bitterness finish. Light/medium body.

Same of the buttery/nutty diacetyl trademark...lighter than the Oktoberfest, not a lot of distinguishable rye flavor.
