Surprising how much charcter this one has despite the low abv. Good caramel taste while not being too overly sweet. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 4, 2009 Draft at the brewpub. Poured a slightly hazy dark orange color. The head was off white and left some lace on the glass. Smelled of brown sugar and dark toffee. Medium bodied and slightly sweet. A bit chalky in the mouth. The flavor profile included the likes of toffee, brown sugar, and light flowery hops. Solid amber with more character than most. beerbuzzmontreal (2911), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 23, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear, deep, reddish-amber color. A creamy, beige colored head leaves behind soapy lacing that mostly rejoins the body. Aromas include big, toasty caramel, with hints of roasted hazelnuts and even a surprising hint of chocolate. Earthy hops lend balance to the nose. Flavors are again quite toasty and nutty, with caramel biscuit showing well alongside chocolate dusted hazelnuts. Medium bodied, moderately carbonated, smooth and highly drinkable, this has everything I’m looking for in a session brew. Very nice little amber. Oakes (8092), gone rambling, Vietnam
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 30, 2008 Amber-red colour with a thick head. Chocolatey aroma with caramel. Very toasty palate; dry & breadcrusty. Good balance. jhumphries69 (726), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 18, 2008 On draft at the brewpub. This beer was a medium brown in color and had a small, almost non-existent, tan head. The aroma was biscuits and crystal malt. The flavor was nice - nutty with some caramel. The hop presence was low, and the bitterness in the end was also low. The mouthfeel is medium-full and creamy. Overall, a decent beer, but not hoppy enough to be an American Amber - perhaps Southern English Brown Ale would have been a more appropriate appelation?
