| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 14, 2007 Dark amber to light brown body with off-white head. Reminiscent of a nut brown with reddish overtones. Aroma is solid, with an abundance of sweet malts. Initial taste is moderately sweet, retreating to a light sweet and acidic with an average duration. Light to medium on the mouth, it has a clean, oily finish with soft carbonation.
This beer shatters our conceptions of an amber ale, boasting a complex palate with a sweet nose.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 19, 2006 Draught. The glass is quite dark amber with a small white head. Aroma is mostly malty, slightly sweet and with noticeable smokiness. Flavor is similar, but with more pronounced smokiness and a bit of bitterness. Not really sure what to make of this; unusual for an amber ale, but on the whole it’s pretty good. Holdwine (909), Beertimore, Maryland, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 1, 2005 Cambridge seems to have some problems with classifying their beers. Definitely not your typical amber. Very dark, almost tough to distinguish it from much darker beers, with a thick, resilient head. Intense aroma and flavor. Chocolate, caramel, light fruitiness and smoky flavors accompanied by a strong, hoppy finish. Pretty good, I thought.
