Commercial Description: The Cambridge Brewing Co. (CBC) is celebrating the Fourth of July, along with the fifth annual American Beer Month, with “red,” “white,” and “blue” beer. The “blue” is a CBC first: Blueberry Ale, fermented in oak barrels with 1.5 pounds of wild Maine blueberries for every gallon. The result is a beer with a “striking deep bluish-purple hue with an astounding lavender head, and aromas and flavors of fresh blueberries,” said CBC Head Brewer Will Meyers.
Purple in color with no head. Aroma of blueberries yet with a slight cranberry-like tartness. Mild woody flavor with a dry, tart blueberry character.
