Commercial Description:
Once again the brewers at CBC have thrown caution to the wind in our latest annual effort to create the biggest, baddest, strongest, bestest beer around. Double-mashed with nearly a ton of malt, five different hops, and cold-aged several months with Frenck Limousine oak, this extraordinary, complex ale boasts flavors and aromas of cramel, dried fruit, vanilla, oak, toffee, spicy hops, and a warming alcohol finish. Very rich and full-bodied, it is unfiltered and unfined. This unique beer will be available all winter, served for your admiration and enjoyment in a 9oz. snifter.

Draft. Copper coloring. Clear, still waters. Light, sporadic soapy head on the rim. Aromatic, hoppy, orange-peel, dates . . . very pleasing. Flavoring mirror the aroma with spices and fruity notes physically dancing on the tongue. Smooth finish, warm fuzzies from the alcohol level. it’s clearly present but not overpowering. Very nice - a quality barleyine.

Tap @ CBC - Deep hazed orange, creamy off white head. Deep rich nose of dried fuzzy fruit, vanilla, oak, and bourbon sit upon toffee brittle notes and hints of coconut cotton candy. Brown sugared bourbon and spiced peach flavors round into soft vanilla wood-like notes. A light hop bitterness in the end truly provides balance to the full richness. Medium to full-bodied, soft carbonation, bittersweet finish. Fantastic execution of the barrel here. Should have grabbed a growler, but two snifters (plus other beers) rendered me silly…

served in a snifter. pretty close to being one of those overwhelming alcohol BWs. Not much hops. a fair amount toffee malt, and, needless to say, a noticeable amount of alcohol

Dark cherry colored body with fizzy, off-white head. Fair lacing. Active body. Aroma is of sweet malts, but not enough to mask the strong scent of alcohol. Initial taste is heavily sweet, tempering to a moderately sweet finish with an average duration. Medium on the mouth, it has a creamy texture with moderate carbonation. The alcohol jumps out of the glass and smacks you. Reviewed on January 20th, 2007.

GABF 2006: Clear amber color with an off-white head. The aroma is light but sweet. Sweet sugary flavor. Some fruit but overall one dimensional.

GABF 2006. Amber bodied. Nose is caramel, sweet malts, light hops and alcohol. Taste consists of more caramel, light toffee, hint of honey, alcohol, overripe fruits and light hops. Body is slick and medium-full. Light carbonation. Finishes with more caramel, fruits, sweet malts, and light hops. Not bad!
