Some plastic flavours, which kept its score down, but nice enough. SuIIy (1501), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA

Clean dark brownish black color. Nice roasted flavors, chocolate, nutty, hints of citrus as it warmed, little soapy. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, bitter roasty finish, nice brew, seemed classic in everyway.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 2, 2005 Roasted and chocolate malts in the fairly typical aroma. Opaque black with thin cover of tan head. Chocolate and roasty flavours are somewhat chalky with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body with fair carbonation. Decent and well-brewed - this is a good and drinkable beer. On tap at the brewpub with MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

Sample at the brewpub. Medium-thick body, near-black with little head...roasty, chocolaty nose, simple but effective...solid, robust, bitter cappucino and baker’s chocolate in the body, very dense, bitter and somewhat chalky at the finish with all the sugar near the front. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2005 Light roastiness and dark chocolate offer pleasing bitterness to play with the resinous hops...Good balance between the molasses sweetness and sturdy hop bitterness...As Rasta says, this was the only interesting number in their 4 regulars that night...The seasonal specials though are an entirely different story!!...
