Lubiere (4464), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jul 28, 2009 A nice dark golden IPA with a thin off white head. Aroma of fragrant c-hops, honey and grapefruits, some orange pulp, nice and surprising. In mouth, a good intense hops with light funk, a bit of mentol. A good IPA, doem with originality. On tap at brewpub, July 1, 2009 2beerguys (299), North Shore, Massachusetts, USA Feb 14, 2007 Hazy appearance provided by the unfiltered process, it has a light to medium amber body with creamy, off-white head with superb lacing. Aroma is well balanced, with equal notes of subtle hops and roasted malts. Initial taste is moderately bitter which carries right through to the finish with an average duration. Medium weight on the mouth, it has a creamy texture with soft carbonation.

Hazy reddish orange color, small head with good lacing. Bittersweet flavor, like aroma, but grapefruit comes to the forefront with other citrus following. Malt is sweet and I got a little almond nut in there. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, bitterdry finish. Tasty. I had this before the barleywine night at Cambridge Brewing. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA Feb 6, 2005 On draught Feb 2005 at CBC. Deep pale-golden body, light yellow, oxidized copper tones and a big white head. Hmm, smells hoppy, leafy and very bitter. Upon first sip, all notions of this being an "easy drinking india pale ale" go out the window. This is brutally bitter and unbalanced by the hops. Intense biting bitterness with more resulting dryness from the rye. Whew, this needs a huge dose of malt. Unfortunately, all it gets is some sugary pils malt. Sweet honey cream and butter notes. The huge contrast of the sweet honey pils malt flavor to the intensely dry and bitter hops does not seem to work, not for me at least. Perhaps that’s why most brewers use caramel and base malts and not pils. Not saying they have to do like everyone else, but I’m just not a fan of this mix. Almost lightly sour/metallic on the finish. Unripe limes and lemons combine, as well, on the finish. Good body on it at least. . . tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Feb 2, 2005 Mild orange-citrus, herbal hop nose. Opaque orange-tan with decent off-white head that recedes to ring. Strong grapefruit-lemon-citrus hop flavour. Fair bitterness. Toasty, biscuity malt flavour peaks out from underneath. Engaging carbonation. Medium body. Sampled at the Extreme Beer Festival 2005. Volgon (2487), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Feb 2, 2005 XBF05: Cloudy orange with an average white head, heavy perfumy spicy orange aroma, full bodied, sticky texture, lively carbonation, and a soft ending Rastacouere (5551), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jan 31, 2005 Draft, EBF: Orange hue, light sticky white head. Caramelic malt a plenty blends with bold hops boasting a vegetal profile. Luckily for maltheads, a gentle toastiness is part of the game and balances this out nicely. In mouth though, the hops grow in apparent strength and develop a strong oiliness that morphs into a powerful bitterness, salty and spicy. Beautiful palate though, creamy body, mellow carbonation. Good IPA. MartinT (5030), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jan 31, 2005 Updated: Jul 8, 2009The Lure: Tropical fruit and pine resins laid out on accommodating bread. Rife with leafy and herbal hoppiness, projecting impending dryness and bitterness.
The Festivities: Wild hop bitterness ramifies into grassy, orangey and earthy allusions. All are very intense and resinous, playing along with sweet rye spiciness. Another well-done Cambridge brew; lackluster is certainly a word missing from Will’s vocabulary. Lovely.
