Pub (4112), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Mar 23, 2007 Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest 07. Dark brown with malty head. Malty sweet fruity beer, coffee and chicory notes, maybe a touch of cough mixture too. A little syrupy, but overall not bad, soft and sweet on the finish. DJMonarch (4091), Northwich, Cheshire, England Feb 3, 2007 Cask Stillage from the outside cellar at the Prince Of Wales, Foxfield 25/11/2006
Slightly rich aroma. Dark coloured fruity and a little rich on the palate. Some dryness in a crisp and bitter lasting finish. Liberty (52), Stompwijk, Netherlands Sep 16, 2005 cask pbf’05
I think this might be a good example of a nice porter. Good balance between roasted malt, hops and not too sweet. duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England May 8, 2005 Cask@Reading BF. Malty. Quite roasty and chcolately, with a slightly unwelcomed rubbery/cosmetic type flavour. Not bad, but the slightly burnt rubber character did distract from the flavour. chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England May 7, 2005 Chestnut colour with a reddish tint - not that dark for a porter. Lots of roasty malt and hints of coffee, but there’s something a bit odd - maybe burnt rubber - in the background. Medium bodied, smooth and easy drinking. More malt than hop in evidence. Decent enough, but nothing to get too excited about. Cask (gravity dispense), Reading Beer Festival 2005.
