Bottle. [Vintage 1997] Clear medium brown color with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, milk chocolate, vintage, old malt - sweet, fruity, vanilla. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet with a average to long duration. (To aged for my tast buts! Way to malty and sweet .. ) Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (141207)

VINTAGE 1988. Bouteille 33 cl, consommée à De Heeren van Liedekercke, Denderleeuw, Décembre 2005.
Couleur brune foncé tirant vers l’acajou, apparence presque opaque.

No#14. (1980 something not sure what year) . Intresting little number here. Aged sweetish aroma with nuttyness kickin about. Taste is similar without the nuttyness, not as complex as expected, maybe a little too aged?

Pretty aged sample Scotch yes - Belgian that too - English - no way! <P> Thin yellow-brown head, gone in secs on quite carbonated, dark-brown beer, hazy. Grapey, raisins-like nose, rich, dark malts (not bitter or burnt), sweet-portlike or Maideira aromas. Nutty (walnut), and port flavour. Given the fact that it HAS some blue cheesy notes (albeit faint), this is an after-dinner party in a (small) bottle. Caramel & cakes taste. Despite a rich nose, and a heavy onset, the end is pretty thin. The alcohol is very hidden. Nice one. The aging has bettered it, but for one thing: the original thin MF has been accentuated if anything. Yet, one to try if you find it.

(Bottle 25 cl) Belgium has this strange tradition for Scotch Ale of which this is a typical example. Pitch black and dry to start with. Lots of dark, roasted malt with a very sweet finish. Probably added sugar pumps up the alcohol. 190999

Shared the bottle with caesar (BB 1998). Very nice aroma, berries, port, malty. Flavour is not as good, but still pretty complex.
