Commercial Description:

Bottled. An amber beer with chunks of yeast floating around under a huge orangey head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, citrus, and yeast. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, bread, and fruit as well as a light touch of spices - among them black peber, leading to a dry bitter finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

(Bottle 33 cl) My version from "Brouwerij Biertoren" in Kampenhout that went out of business in 1993. Now the beer is brewed in a similar version by Huyghe. Very dark golden, opaque with some impurities and bottle fermentation. Very full-bodied, dry and easy to drink. Nice alright, but nothing spectacular. 260994

Bottled. Amber colour, no head, some sediment. Fruity and caramelly with dextrose and glue. Really sweet with medium body. Sticky and simple. Seemingly brewed from syrup and dextrose only.

Bottle. BB DEC 04 (16 months past). Cloudy grey colour, lots of floaties. No head. Rather thin and watery. Slightly malty, oxidized flavour. Not peppery or strong. Rather weak tasting.

Bottled. Amber colour, with particles floating around. Mediumsized beigeish foamy head, some lace. Aroma is caramel malts, mild fruityness, some mild alcohol and a bit yeasty. Flavour is much the same along with slight burning notes from a combination of spices and alcohol. Quite mouthdrying.

Aged four years (approx)...Dark amber; sweet, sherryish, prunes, Christmas fruitcake. Sweet candy flavours, chocolate notes, cherries, very faint pineapple. Sweet straightforward palate overall, with a slightly sugar maltiness in the finish.
