Commercial Description:
This full-bodied dark stout is made in the best of British traditions. With a rich creamy head and a coffee aftertaste it is sure to please the heavy/dark beer drinker.

On draft at the brewpub. Aroma is coffee and chocolate. Black in color with a small head. Strong coffee flavor. All in all, not too bad. Not my favorite stout though.

Pint at the brewery. Pours near black. oh man, a whiff warns me of super sweetness to follow. I mean, the aroma is pure caramel, which I found weird for a stout. The flavor has a bit of chocolate hints, but mostly pure caramel and vanilla syrup hits my tongue. A pint of this stuff is brutally sweet. I couldn’t finish the glass. This is one of the sweetest, if not THE sweetest, stout I have ever drunk. I would recommend this to someone who drinks a lot of soda and eats a lot of candy. This just isn’t for me.

Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is rich with roast and lightly sweet chocolate and light coffee. There is also a cream, lactose-like sweetness as well. Maybe a bit too sweat at times. Taste starts with decent roast and some woodsy bark. But then all of a sudden BAM! coffee just hits you halfway through. Its a ground espresso bean coffee flavor. Some of that lactose/cream sweetness as well.
Sampler @ brewpub.

Appearance: Pours a clear, dark brown body with a small, fizzy tan-colored head. Smell: Mild aroma of dry, dark chocolate with a hint of coffee. Taste: Dark maltiness with flavors of dark chocolate and coffee, though very little sweetness. Not much of a hop presence beyond a faint, faint herbal character. Chocolate milk finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Mild carbonation. Drinkability: It’s alright!!

Very, very good stout. I’m a little surprised at the negative ratings on here. My Dad and I were in town for the Miss GA pageant (Columbus) and went downtown and we found this place. They were out of the ale, so we got this. Glad we did. This is everything a stout should be. Its dark and kind of sweet. Has a really nice grain-taste to it. You can really taste the grains. Not much hops, but you do notice them. I was pleasantly surprised. One of the better stouts I’ve had.

Opaque black and brown with full tan head. I’ve had this several times and the taste varies from bitter to sweet. When its fresh the maltiness comes out more and is not all that heavy for a stout. When its been setting around awhile the bitterness picks up and is only decent as a finish. Draft at Mobile, AL

Dark pour, with a small tan head. Little distinguishable aroma. Flavor of coffee and chocolate, went well with my free birthday dessert. Fairly watery with a dry finish. Not bad, not excellent either.
