This was a sweet lager like brew with a buttery finish very much a lager with some darker malts. Nice coloring and great dry finish.

On draught at the brewpub in downtown Victoria, BC. Pours a clear golden pale blonde brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing and a thin white ring. Aroma of light caramel malt with citrus, a touch of sweet pear, and a little herbal scent. Taste is light bodied, light carbonation with flavors of white bread, a touch of yeast, some pear character and some citrus. Finish is semi-sweet with a short lived mild bitterness after the finish.

7/14/07 On draught at the brewery. Aroma is light graham cracker, bready, with low hop citrus. Appearance is light gold with a low retention white head. Flavor is light malt forward with low overall character and a faint noble hop flavor. Mouthfeel is medium/low bodied with medium carb feel and some creaminess. Overall, this is very easy drinking, and while not too exciting, I’m sure I could plow through a few of these.

Booo...crappiest beer in their lineup. Plastic bag taste. Watery. The beer they use to medicate the geriatrics in Victoria.

8/24/2007: Canoe Red Canoe Lager pours a transparent light gold color with a lasting foamy white head. The aroma and flavor have a creamy pale maltiness with a hint of citrusy hops. This beer is light and smooth on the palate. Overall this is a pretty unexciting pils...

Draught sample (5.2% ABV) at the Canoe Brewpub in Victoria, BC, Canada. Rating #17 for this beer...

Sample glass at the pub. Dark yellow. Light white head. Meaty European Lager aroma. Didn’t get the hops in the nose but present in the flavour. Dirty hop taste. Vegetably taste mixed with hops.
