This was the first beer for the trip and it was tasty and nice for the hot sun on my back. Malty with light hops this was a tasty start.

A golden pale ale with a thin white head. Weird aroma of chick pea puree and light sulfur. In mouth, lightly malty caramel with nice little hops, very restrained. Light and quaffable. Tested around early April 2007.

On draught at the brewpub in downtown Victoria, BC. Pours a clear copper amber brew with a fast dissolving off-white head that leaves behind some nice lacing and a thick off-white ring. Aroma of roasted nuts, some amber/caramel malt, with a touch of citrus zest. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with flavors of caramel malt, citrus, some butter and a touch of teriyaki. Finish is a little thin, semi-dry with a light malt aftertaste.

7/14/07 On draught at the brewery. Aroma is malty with the balance of a sweet hop citrus character. Appearance is light yellow with a well retained white head. Flavor is well balanced with sweet malt, citrus and a moderate bittering. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a medium carb feel. Overall, not bad and fairly typical besides the malty aroma.

Light amber with a thin head. Light hops, buttery. Butter bomb in a bottle, a bit of hops peek through, thin palate. ACK !! The butter. Once you taste it you can’t untaste it. Blea!
