A dark clear brown ale with copper hues and a thin white head. A sweet caramel aroma with sweaty notes. In mouth, a sweet cloying malt with nutty notes, oily mouthfeel, very short in mouth. Medium bodied. Boring. Tasted Dec. 2006.

Red brown, slightly hazy. Predominantly toffee aroma, maybe a little rummy. Earthy toffee, subtley spicey, faint orange liquer essence. Not a hint of its 8% alcohol. Warming and pleasant.

Bottle, thanks to Josh for picking it up and and Todd for telling him to ;-) Fairly neutral aroma, light spicy. Amber, creamy head. Fairly spicy, light nutty, berrylike notes, a hint veggies. Lighter body than I expexted. Sticky exit.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry, blankboy & jerc - courtesy of blankboy. Bright, clear copper with a wispy head. Soft aroma of fruit (citrus & peach) and malt, a bit of boozy warmth in behind. Body is on the thin side. Flavour is quite nice, sweet caramel malt & fruit, and a bit of spice. Hides the 8% pretty well. Yeah, it’s pretty good.

Bottle (650ml). Shared with blankboy, GregClow and jerc, blankboy’s bottle via trade with CapFlu. Poured clear orange-amber with a nondescript head. Mild aroma with a bit of booze, citrus, and caramel malt - sweet. Tastes of tart fruit, light caramel malt and pungent sweet spice, the alcohol is less pronounced than in the aroma, but still quite sweet. Slick mouthfeel, average body, fairly weak carbonation, the alcohol and tart, slightly acidic fruit emerge somewhat in the finish. Decent, if a little thin,

Bottle (650ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow & jerc -- my bottle courtesy of CapFlu. Pours a clear amber with an average size diminishing white head. Nice malty, fruity & spicy aroma. Flavour of caramel malt, fruit and lots o’ spices. Alcohol’s well hidden. Medium bodied. A pretty good version of the style, i enjoyed it.

Bottle. Tiny white head tops an amber body with some protein floaties. Fruity aroma with a spicey note to it, light alcohol character. Very spicey flavour, moderate malt and caramel, dry finish, light spice notes from the aroma. Average palate. Pleasant, not a superstar but quite nice. Alcohol is very restrained in the flavour.

Bright amber colour. Fresh, fruity, slightly spicy and caramelly aroma. Flavours are vague cinnamon, ginger and caramelly, earthy malt. Nice, polite winter brew.
