Pours a bubbly yellow gold color with minimal head. The aroma was light with tropical fruits, dust and wood. The taste was oaky and sweet with lingering sweet and sour fruits. The mouthfeel was light but satisfying. The finish was long and tart. Overall: A well crafted gueuze that is worth seeking out. mabel (2626), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Slightly hazy, light brown orange body with a medium-lasting creamy white head. Sour toasted yeast flavour with a nice sour woody note. Medium body is sour. Quite nice! Could have even more sourness or acidity but its drinkable and good as is.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 3, 2008 Golden pour with a steady continuance of small bubbles to create a small white lid of bubbles. Signature Cantillon scent from the first pop of the cork. Sweet wheat, mild lemon zest, white grape, and a little attic dust in the scents. Hints of brandy do come out as it rests. Certainly not a sour monster as so many of the Cantillons are. Actually the more I try, it is there but masked by more sweetness. Dry malt and caramel start. LIght tartness in the middle that picks up steam all the way through to the finish and linger. I catch cognac early, but it does seem to fad. A bit watery at times. I like it, but it does not seem to have the depth of some of the others. Vac (2394), San Diego, California, USA

Pours with a yellowish gold body topped by a thin head with no lacing. It’s sour, lemony and tart with a little funk and a slight woody note. Light bodied, crisp, smooth and a touch dry. It was tasty. I like! The cognac barrels were interesting with the gueuze, but like everything cantillon makes, it turned out great. A little bit of sweetness from the barrels, along with some nice oak, and funk. Delish. shp555 (1693), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Like everyone Cantillon, it is delicious and without flaw. Sour barnyard aroma. Tons of barnyard character, horse blanket, vinegar. Lots of yeast. There is some grape, but I don’t taste the cognac. Bright, cloudy yellow, and lots of thin, white foam that leaves a lacing on the glass. Finish has cloves and some apricot. This is an incredible beer. One of my highest ratings ever. michael-pollack (2745), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured orange amber in color with a small, extremely dense, creamy, off-white head that slowly disappeared. Cloudy. Sparkling. Flavor is bad; sour. Tastes of sour mix, cherries, and cognac. Acidic. Light to medium body. Thin, watery texture. Soft to average carbonation. Sour, cognac finish. Eww.
