Commercial Description:
A blueberry lambic brewed with Danish blueberries exclusively for Ølbutikken, Copenhagen, Denmark.

There are four different vintages available that, because of the length of time the berries soaked in the beer, have turned out rather differently:

Batch 1: 2005: The berries soaked in the beer too long leaving an almost vinegarish lambic with the well-known Cantillon tartness. The color is hazy orange. Will be sold in extremely limited quantity.

Batch 2 & 3: 2007: A more fruity and not as tart lambic as the 2005 vintage. Beautiful deep red colored.

Batch 4: 2009: Maybe the most fruity batch so far with an extremely well balance between the fruit and the funk!

Batch 5: 2009: Extremely soft mouthfeel with a distinct tartness.

Bottle 75cl. @ home.
[ My Rating #4000 ].. After drinking so many bottles of this very very nice beer I manage also to make a rating of it ..
Light unclear medium to dark red color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, light red head. Aroma is blueberries - berry sour - tart, wood, horse blanket - barnyard, acdic. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate acidic with a long duration, and a dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft - lively. It is awesome .. very very nice and complex and again easy to drink and very refreshing... ;o)) (050708)

Bottle at Pre GBBF shindig at Chris_o’s. Not sure what happened to my rating of this one, I’m sure I put it on before. Anyway, as I’ve said many times before, I am not Cantillon’s biggest fan as I don’t always find their beers very drinkable due to the higher acidity than in some of the other lambics. However, some of them are good and I have Jeppe and he is a great guy, so it’s great that he got the chance to brew something there. For me the overriding aroma was very farmyardy, especially smelling it straight from the bottle. The fruit then comes through in the glass. But for me the acidity is too overpowering for my palate. Decent fruit though.

Bottle shared by Enniskillen from MRuesch; Nose of horseblanket, funkiness, and blueberries (typical Cantillon); murky darl red with a small ring of bubbles; flavor is very tart with a light amount of blueberries; finish is tart, but the body light.

Bottle from MReusch huge thanks for this brew. Very moist cork, and mild rust on the cap. Foggy light purple color, with a thin cream violet color. Aroma is light blueberry, horseblanket, sour. Taste is a tart blueberry with horseblanket, sour with lemon. Interesting brew

37.5 cl bottle, 2007 Vintage, via papsoe. This is one of those rare corked beers that did all the work for me opening it. As soon as I popped the crown the cork began to magicly slowly rise as if it wanted to be set free. No issues with foaming though. Pours a beautiful shade of purple-pink with a small fizzy pink head that retained as a thin covering and a small ring. Wow, the nose is just great, sour funky blueberries with lots of musty and woody notes. A little bit of stinky cheese and yogurt like funkiness. Bracingly tart and acidic, it’s hard believe that the 2005 vintage can get much more tart. There’s an extremely authentic blueberry flavor that takes center stage even with all of the classic Cantillon house character. The finish is just bone dry with lots of musty gueuze like notes of damp cellar and wood. Though the blueberries are quite sour, there’s just a little bit of sweetness up front that makes me think of chocolate covered blueberries. Medium bodied and super dry with perfect pinpoint soft carbonation and a lingering acetic finish. Overall, this beer was just excellent, the fruit was just so vibrant and fresh tasting. Very interested to try the 2005 now, but I couldn’t justify drinking 2 bottles of this beer on the same night. Interestingly I had the Upland Blueberry just last night and this thing blew it away by a mile.

37,5 cl bottle - tasting with yngwie, gunnfryd and Beer_2000. Vintage 2007. Hazy brown/reddish color. Moderate, disappering white head. Aroma is lovely fruity, with sourness and oak. Flavor is sour fruit and hints of blueberry, wood, hints of smoke - «old» taste.
