Commercial Description:
A blueberry lambic brewed with Danish blueberries exclusively for Ølbutikken, Copenhagen, Denmark.

There are four different vintages available that, because of the length of time the berries soaked in the beer, have turned out rather differently:

Batch 1: 2005: The berries soaked in the beer too long leaving an almost vinegarish lambic with the well-known Cantillon tartness. The color is hazy orange. Will be sold in extremely limited quantity.

Batch 2 & 3: 2007: A more fruity and not as tart lambic as the 2005 vintage. Beautiful deep red colored.

Batch 4: 2009: Maybe the most fruity batch so far with an extremely well balance between the fruit and the funk!

Batch 5: 2009: Extremely soft mouthfeel with a distinct tartness.

Nose smells like a blueberry compote with a bright vinegary tartness. Poured a deep blood red, almost a purple hue to it, with a pink head. Taste is bright and clean, at cellar temp there is a lot of blueberry and tartness, but not sour. as it warms up it has hints of hay and becomes much more sour.

Fogdog is the man for opening this at the BB Bolita Release. Pours a hazy red with a pink head. Nose is lots of berry, yeast, cobweb, vinegar, moisture, and funk/ cobweb. Flavor is vinegar, sour berries, tart fruit, funk, cobweb, and dryness. Flavor levels out, and becomes enjoyable. Medium-bodied and enjoyable.

750ml 2009 bottle generously popped by hophead84, thanks Shane!! Pours a medium plum purple with a 1 finger thick pink head. We heard this one was a gusher so we opened it very carefully and had no problems. Nose of lush blueberries, Raspberries and a perfect balance between tart fruit and crisp acidity. Flavor was nice blue/ raspberry with some Brett funk on the finish. Very lively carbonation on the palate. I am seriously gonna plan a Euro vacation around the next release of this bottle, F’ing spectacular!

Bottle shared by fogdog at the BA Bolita release party. What a gorgeous beer. Brilliant cloudy red with a foamy thick purplish-pink head. Nose is crazy berry, with yeasty acidic notes of sourness. Light in body with huge berry notes up front before the tart sourness starts to hit you. Sour but not puckeringly so. Amazingly balanced. One of Cantillon’s best fruit beers. I was really glad to get to try this rare brew, thanks Kevin!

(Bottle, 2009, purchased at Ölbutikken, Copenhagen) Deep red colour with frothy, pink head. Tart, acidic, fruity nose with earthy notes of stable and barnyard, tart hints of berries (not obviously blueberries). Tart, fruity taste with sour berries (blueberries, cowberries, cranberries) and an earthy, funky sourness. Fruit never takes over, it just contributes to the balance (as usual with Cantillon). Medium body, dry and tart with that lovely refreshing Cantillon acidity that makes it so drinkable in all its extremity. Lovely beer!

[Bottle] shared by tytoanderso. Thanks a ton for sharing this one! Gushing bottle pours a beautiful deep blueish purple with a large, very creamy pink head. Nose is super funky with lots of brett, not a ton of berry, and hints of definite tartness. Flavor is initially fairly sour and tart, lots of acidity, some fruit that isn’t necessarily easily identifiable as blueberry, some mineral character, and hardly any sweetness. Really fantastically creamy mouthfeel, but it dries out beautifully on the end leaving a woody and fruity finish. Awesome, awesome beer, and well worth the wait!

Pours a berry red color with a pink head. Nose is berries, lactic acid, tart unripe fruits. Flavor was loads of blueberry and sharp acidic tartness. Very nice. I need more than just a taste of this one.
