Nate (2533), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 30, 2008 Sampled at the RBPG; bottle courtesy of mtoast. Terrific lactic sour nose, winey, with oak and lactic funkiness. That hits the spot! Golden crystal clear body with no head. Medium light body with very little carbonation. Bottled in 2003? Nice sour taste, winey with oak. Absolutely delicious and sour, sour, sour. Ozone electric and notes of sulfur. I wish that this style was more prevalent and cheaper in this area; really miss the Cantillon brews. Miver (547), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 29, 2008 Bottle shared with Axilla. Thanks!!! Cork didn’t really pop... Poured gold in color with virtually no head. Just a thin soapy film on the surface. Aroma was typical cantillon yeast, but not as strong as other cantillon’s. Taste of lemon, vinegar, yeast, and overall a bit watery. Not as tart as I was expecting. Really surprised to see this one rated better then Rose’ De Gambrinus. LinusStick (1830), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 28, 2008 Beautiful lambic. Srong vinegar aroma. Pour was a light gold with no head. Taste was amazing. Strong vinegar, lemon and yeast with a heavy acidic aftertaste. There is some woodiness and earthiness to this beer which was unexpected. Man I could drink this everyday! EHSRanders (1121), Randers C, Denmark Jan 26, 2008 Bottle. Murky golden colour with no head. Acetic aroma and flavor. Some bitterness. Not my kind of beer. jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Jan 25, 2008 Nice slightly hazy golden coloured body, with strong orange highlights with no head at all to think of. Aroma of sour grapes, lemons, yeast, limes and vinegar - GREAT! Light-bodied; Amazing sour flavour up front with a good mellow body and a super tart mouthful. Aftertaste shows character with sour twangs the most noticeable. Overall, a great sour beer with an amazing feeling. I’d definitely sample this one again - hopefully soon! I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Clarendon (Arlington), Virginia. ogglethorp (882), Ohio, USA Jan 22, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy copper color with a minimal tan colored head. Aroma is vinegar, oak, sour apple. Flavor is oak, sour apple, vinegar, earth. Palate is medium bodied, low carbonation, finished the typical biting sourness and acidic tartness. Found this to be very watery and not as enjoyable as the other Cantillons. Dedollewaitor (3622), Odense, Denmark Jan 22, 2008 Tasting@beermouth. 75 cl bottle bought at Biertempel, Brussels. Cloudy orange with a sprinkly off white head. Sour acidic, vinegar, Fresh & crisp. Wood/cask notes. Bitingly sour on the tongue & cheeks. This, I think, was a breakthrough for my gueze career. Highly enjoyable! pineypower (1075), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA Jan 19, 2008 Friend brought this over and shared the bottle, dropped like $27 or something on it. Pulled out the cork with little to no carbonation. Pours out a slightly cloudy orange color. If you shook the glass enough a tiny head appeared. Aroma very sour and vinous, with some earthy oak undertones. Flavor was tart and sour, earthy oak notes, some citrus. Interesting, but I don’t know if it was worth the price tag.
