BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jun 29, 2007 Updated: Jun 30, 2007Sampled at the RBSG 07 Grand Tasting. Excellent sour nose on this beer. with a wild field character. Very sour body with an earthy tinge. JK (2945), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Jun 29, 2007 Updated: Oct 5, 2007I didn’t realize this was an unblended lambic while drinking it. From a keg. I expected unblended lambic to be much more sour that this. As it is, there is mild barnyard aroma and wild yeast. Flavor is just a little sour, some oak, cloudy yellow. It really is a nice beer, and the mildest lambic I have ever had that still is clearly a quality beer and not something filled with sugar. This one was from 2003. I will have to rerate when I open my bottle. natejgood (188), Denver, Colorado, USA Jun 27, 2007 This is a still lambic. Pours a light, hazy golden color. The first taste is sour and acidic, but not overpowering. After it has been in your mouth for a moment you get a flavor similar to a white burgendy. There is a bit of oak. The stillness takes a bit of getting used to, but after that it is enjoyable to drink, especially if you are a fan of sour beers. bobaidan (358), Farmington, Connecticut, USA Jun 26, 2007 Pours hazy orange with no head to speak of. Aroma is sour oak and lemon. Flavor is sour, but not overpowering. There is a nice woody flavor in the background. jason (1620), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 26, 2007 Bottle. Thanks to Slob and Solan for sending me a bottle. Pours a cloudy golden body with no head. Aroma is of citrus and light barnyard. Flavor is lightly sour - barnyard. Small amount of citrus, a little oak presence. Full bodied, a little syrupy. This is one calming beer. I really enjoyed this. TURDFERGUSON (1594), Carrboro, North Carolina, USA Jun 24, 2007 Bonus bottle from Mgumby10. What a bonus, thanks Mike! Been a while since I’ve had this one and I wish I had more. Pours a deep golden color with absolutely no head. Hardly any carbonation either. Nose is barnyard, oak, lemons. Flavor is incredibly smooth for a lambic but at the same time very sour, acidic, and damn tasty. I drank this faster than any lambic I’ve had in the past. I wish this was still locally available to me. Paired great with Stroopie cookies from Holland. nestore (2), Italy does not count Jun 21, 2007 Uno spettacolo al naso una varieta impressionante di sfumature ( sembra un ottimo sauvignon ) il gusto e’ sorprendente con un retrogusto lunghissimo dopo averla bevuta la bocca rimane di una pulizia unica e l’acidità invoglia a berne ancora e ancora........ ChainGangGuy (2522), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Jun 20, 2007 Appearance: Pours a hazy, still golden body with a thin, white head.
Smell: The cold hard fact that this smells exactly like TheBeerCellar’s 1978 "Gas Line" Lemonade is totally indisputable.
Taste: A slight upfront sweetness layered with lemons and hay. Hints of wood and salt. Plenty of vinegary acidity on the dry, pucker-inducing finish.
Mouthfeel: Thin-bodied. Very little carbonation to speak of. Just the slightest bit oily in the mouthfeel.
Drinkability: I’m tellin’ ya, "Gas Line Lemonade".
