Flavour is a little weak but dry and acidic with notes of fruit and wood.
plovmand (1590), Helsinge, Denmark Jul 18, 2009 Bottle. Unclear orange body with no head. Dry sour grapes in aroma with some acid and wood. Bit sweet fruity flavour with notes of wood and acid. Medium bodied. BeerGestapo (725), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 18, 2009 Brewed in Belgium..... Courtesy of AFI96, thanks Waylo !!! Pours a golden / orange color with zero head. Aroma is of sour apples, lemons and baby funk. Taste of sour fruits, flowers, aspirin and earth. The mouthfeel is super thin in body, zero carbonation and kind of boring. Cantillon makes much better lambics, i suggest you try something else. Vintage 2008. Lightly hazed gold, a bit darker than most lambics, with zero head. smell/taste were: barnyard funk, aspirin, lemon, oak, straw and a hint of onion. Palate was thin and slightly astingent. No carbonation. Reminded me of a sour white wine. Doesn’t feel as balanced as the blended lambics that Cantillon makes. Also I think I may have liked it better if it had a bit of carbonation. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jul 12, 2009 Bottle at the Thirsty Monk. Pours a translucent gold with no head. The nose is tart and musty, nice yeasty barnyard aromas, acidic, mild phenol with some warmth. Flavor is tart and acidic, a little more one dimensional than a blended lambic, acetic, funky and yeasty, some phenol and astringency on the palate. Fred82 (343), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jun 28, 2009 Bottle at L’autre Oeil. Bottled date is Oct 08. Pours yellow with no head at all. Aroma is sour with subtle notes of orange, peaches, citrus and lemon.Taste is mild sourness with hints of citrus and lemon. Finish is dry. Palate is dead flat, no carbonation at all. It was enjoyable and tasty but not much complexity. I’ve had far better lambic than this one. Maybe I will need to have another sample. The absence of carbonation made it harder to appreciate the beer. A challenging beer like someone just under me said. daniele (1642), Italy May 31, 2009 chiara piatta il naso è vinoso frutta legno ossidazioni acido in bocca acida secca vinosa fruttata legno frutta secca lunga
