MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Aug 10, 2006 Bottle. Sourish, earthy aroma. Dark golden colour, almost clear, no head. Totally flat, no carbonation. Sour flavour, no surprise, earthy and nice. Hint of aluminium in the aftertaste, but that wears off. OldMrCrow (1179), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 4, 2006 On tap at the Stumbling Monk in Seattle.
Pours a light yellow-orange, slightly cloudy with a nice white head. A gorgeous lemon juice and oak aroma comes through marvellously, little harshness or vinegar, just a eep rich lambic goodness. The flavor is a beautiful dry sourness, plenty of complex wood-and-lambic but not ostentatiously so; the sourness is uncompromising but ot the least bit aggressive or stinging. Crisip, delightful palate.
Truly a wonderful beer. vyvvy (2023), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA Jul 28, 2006 Updated: Jan 9, 2008Cork shows 2005. Pours hazy amber with very little head. Aroma is quite tart with vinegar and light spice. Medium body, but heartier body than expected - little to no carbonation to be found. Taste is sour with dry wine characteristics, especially on the finish. Strong earthiness in the background. Nice beer. (original rating - 7/3/7/3/15 - 3.5) <P> Rerate notes: Aroma also has light leather and barnyard funk. Taste is refreshing and tart and citrus along with what was mentioned previously. Very nice beer. moejuck (1165), Ohio, USA Jul 17, 2006 2002 on the cork. This unblended lambic pours out a hazy golden color. The aroma is vinegar and bread. You can tell this is going to be a pungent puckerer. The taste is very sour and wine-like. Medium mouthfeel and carbonation. Very interesting--if you like the sour stuff--then this one is for you. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark Jul 10, 2006 Bottle. Very yummy. Clear golden in colour with a rather large head. Very well balanced sourness and sweetness. Hints of apple. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jul 9, 2006 750. Cork says bottled in ’05. Beer is clear, light, orange-gold in color. Small, white, frothy head rapidly vaporizes. The aroma is tart and warm, a little shy. Probably because the beer is still. Malty with light notes of toasted grain, cookie and caramel; Yeasty with light notes of attic/cobweb, plastic; Miscellaneous notes of moderate spicy alcohol, light notes of dried stone fruit, mead-like honey, sherry. The flavor is moderately acidic, lightly bittersweet with an average-length, lightly acidic, lightly bitter finish. The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is still. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA Jul 1, 2006 Hazy orange body with a dishwater head, no lacing. Aroma is leather, oak, peaches, basement, barnyard action, lemons, the usual tartness. Not as interesting as the other offerings I’ve had from them. Felt relatively lighter on everything, mainly body and acidity. Not impressive to look at, but better to drink. Not their best offering IMO. thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 29, 2006 This bottled brew was sampled at a rating party in Indianapolis at Dick’s Bodacious BBQ on 3/31/06. It poured a fully diminished head. The body was hazy with a light yellow brown color. The aroma contained sour Lambic doughy notes. The mouth feel was tingly from start to finish with a mild acidic note. The flavor was sour and musty.
