SoLan (1369), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 25, 2006 2005. Hazy orange, no head. Aorma of sour yeast, oak, vinegar, musty barn funk, and some floral and citrus undertones. Flavor is sour, vinegared oak up front, followed by some funk and a sharp floral-citrus-mint combination. Dry, sour, citrus, oak finish and aftertaste. Body is too thin, would benefit from a little carbonation, just a little. Flavor and aroma are superb. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Apr 16, 2006 750 ml bottle. 2002 bottling. Unblended Lambic we meet at last. Still hazy golden colour. Heavy horseblanket, leather, hay, musky, dry, soft cheesy aroma. Sourness predominant in the flavour melded with dusty, yeasty, citrus, fruity, and more sour flavours. Light bodied and mouth puckering but absolute thirst quenching refreshment. skaughty (621), Marietta, Georgia, USA Apr 12, 2006 A sour pour for sure, with a thickness that was unexpected. This bottle had clearly matured, an the vinegar and mustiness led the way. The back end was more grapefruit and other citrus. Not even a hint of sweetness. jerc (3861), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 12, 2006 Updated: Sep 10, 2007September 2007. Bottle @ Rudolf’s ’Sourfest’. 2006 Vintage. Headless yellow body. Grassy grainy notes to the aroma with lightly floral character and something like lemon juice/vinegar. (6+) Sharp sour bit up front but it is actually surprisingly mild the rest of the way. Lemon acidity. (6+) Average palate lacks carbonation. 6/3/6/3/12 - 3.0
<P>2002 Vintage, rated April 2006 Tasted at Brewnosers Meeting. Lightly hazy golden body with no head. Tart/sour horse blanket aroma. Still bodied light palate. Lemon citrus juice, sourness ranges from pleasant and refreshing to mouth puckeringly intense as the glass goes on. Interesting and surprisingly accessible. 7/3/6/3/14 - 3.3 goldtwins (4078), Nesconset, New York, USA Apr 8, 2006 1996 Vintage: Poured a hazy yellow-orange color. The aroma was tart, dusty, and yeasty. Fairly tart and acidic flavor. It was nice though, not too much. The finish was clean. Light and refreshing. Very nice. stefanberggren (135), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Apr 6, 2006 WOW the aroma alone makes my mouth start to salivate due to the thought of tart/sourness. The aroma is oakey, slight citrus/lactic note with hay/wet leaves. Carbonation is very minimal. First taste is an explosion of complexity with a good sourness that I truly enjoy in a lambic. Very tart, yeasty and smooth. Temperature served around 55ºF. Nice if you can find it buy it and sip slowly over a good conversation. MI2CA (1260), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Apr 4, 2006 Sample at Indy tasting Dick’s BBQ 3/31/06 - Aroma is sour, yeast, citrus, and clove. Pours hazy yellow with no head or lacing. Flavor matches aroma. There is a fruity taste in there I can’t put my finger on, maybe apricot or grapefruit. Palate is very tart yet it goes down smooth. I like the natural flavors and would like to nurse a whole bottle and really get into it. damienv10 (108), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 31, 2006 Hazy gold color with just a tiny bit of lacing/head rimming the glass. The nose is very sour, with lemon, and barnyard. I can tell this is going to be acidic before I drink it. Still but with a little tingling on the palate, soft. Pleasant grapefruit sourness gives way to a fair bitterness with a little bit of the oak. Definitely older barrels. Good balance in this lambic, my first unblended. Its going very nicely with the smoked trout and cheese I’m eating :)
