Savad (58), Delft, Netherlands Aug 20, 2005 2001 vintage. Had it in June 2005. A shock! Bad shock. Does not taste or feel Cantillon. Hope it’s just this bottle: infected or wrong handling. Gives a leather and dusty aroma. Peach color. Looks dead, has no appeal. A tee-leaf in the flavor at first. Dusty wood in the finish. Dusty and plain mouthfeel. Some astringency. Sigmund (2197), Hafrsfjord, Norway Aug 19, 2005 Bottle, vintage 2002, RBESG 2005 Grand Tasting. Golden to amber colour, no head. Overwhelming barnyard aroma, hints of lemons too. Yellow, a bit hazy, no head. Sour, lambic nose. Sour, earthy, "refreshing". "Basic" high-quality unblended. Kevin (1917), Colorado, USA Aug 7, 2005 light orange color with almost no head. sour, skunk aroma with a noticeable woodiness. tart tast, not really sour, but tart. woody almost orange flavor with some lingering grape echos. a metallic pear taste also arrises in this. and the last taste of this had some weird chocolate like flavor in it. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA Aug 3, 2005 Courtesy of Pailhead. Light golden in color with no head. Very nice musty/sour aroma. Initial flavor is all sour lemon-esque, little vinegar through the middle, but fades to nothing quickly. A little thin. Underpar for these guys. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 1, 2005 Just a mellow cantillon sounress and oak flavour, but well done on that account. Went well went varied with a doppleback and a mead. Cloudy yellow with no lace. Medium mouthfeel with acid that was tolerable. tart, dry finish.
