an unclear orange beer with no head. The aroma is sour with notes of wood and peaches. The flavor is lovely sour with notes of grapefruit and a dry finish. A lovely beer.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of Thomas_E. Slightly hazy, pale golden with a small, white head. There’s a vague, tart Brett nose. Medium body - well, perhaps even a little watery, only moderately sour although you do indeed sense the usual Brett and horse blanket characteristics. Quite OK, but not as complex as blended Gueuzes. 280907

1999 vintage: Pale golden coloured. Crystal clear. Acidic nose. Very tart, cask character, some salt. Complex like a fine whiskey. Very sour.

75 cL bottle, thanks to Thomas_E. Pours hazy yellow with a little lacing head. Slight classic geuze aroma but more mellow and with a slight peppery note. Quite citric to acidic flavour, dry and fruity.

Bottle 75cl 2001 @ 16th Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation 2007, Opstal. Clear medium yellow color with a small fizzy fair lacing white head. Aroma is light sour / sweet, grape, fruity, apple ! ala cider / white wine. Flavor is light to moderate sweet and moderate to heavy acidic with a long duration. Nice balance. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is flat. ;o))

Bottle. Sourish, earthy aroma. Dark golden colour, almost clear, no head. Totally flat, no carbonation. Sour flavour, no surprise, earthy and nice. Hint of aluminium in the aftertaste, but that wears off.

Bottled (2002). Orange, hazy colour, no head. Traditional Cantillonish nose, only sourness. Flavour is enourmously dry sourness and wooden hints. Totally lovely. A good one!
