Aroma is the typical funky, barnyard, wet blanket. Mellow yellow, has a small custard head. Flavour is a distinct tart fruitness. Very dry, light bodied, in spite of the difficulty to swallow this tart, acidic concoction, leaves You begging for more! My first unblended lambic, Yumm!

In a bottle at the Stone Sourfest...the last pour of the last bottle apparently. Pours with a medium clarity gold body and minimal head. Aroma of must and lemon. Taste is sour, vinegar and lemon. Near flat, dry mouthfeel.

Perhaps my first unblended lambic, and it’s as sour as the blendeds. In fact, I can’t tell the difference. Quite dry, fizzy and tart. Golden color.

Cloudy golden-yellow body with no head at all. Aroma has some apple and the type of fruity and residual sweetness that I associate with home made jams. The beer was really dry and that was a very pleasant feeling. Some apple skin, non-existent carbonation, gentle sourness and acitidy. Very soft. I loved it but I’m not yet familiar enough with the “pure” lambic style to even comment on how well it stands out or doesn’t. I mean, I come across that style of beer as often as I come across the style right-wing-gothic-anarchist-accountant.

75 cl bottle from 2005. Hazy deep golden with almost no head at all. Acidic, lemony aroma together with wood. Lemon and woody flavours, very acidic, great complexity! Medium to light body and flat as is expected. Simply great!

(Rating #228)

750. Wow, I’m really not the right person to rate this. Pours orange-amber with minimal head; no visible carb. Smells sharply pungent; overwhelming barnyard and horse blanket; quite tart and citric. Tastes like lemon juice. And nothing else. BitBucket Jr sez "smells like athlete’s foot and @ss."

2005 vintage Courtesy of Degarth. My first rating of this style. Thanks. Pours hazy gold with orange hue and almost no head. The aroma is mild tartness and tart cherry fruitiness followed by solid funkiness. I also get mild vegetable-ish alcohol notes. The taste starts watery followed by a bolt of tartness that buckles the knees and causes a wince of apparent pain. The fruit noted in the nose is just noticeable on the palate. Wow. This is tart. Could use many many more years of aging. I didn’t notice any wood being that it is cask aged for three years, pity. Interesting and refreshing experience.
