It will be a long time, if ever I am invited again and I see a spread of bottles like I did there - ever again. I am not good enough for the beers that were that we sampled! For example, how about this beer; Cantillon broucelle 1900 (2003) from the owner himself, Hart, thanks mtoast. Quite an experience. Sweetish farmyard aromas that are slightly tart in nature. Surprisingly very clear for a cantillon, in my experience. Completely flat yet has an interesting feel to it. On the tongue it is tart and only mildly sour. Wet woolly blankets. Rags that have sat in the corner for a while. Interesting lambic session with no carbonation. Some light amount of bitter on the finish, but certainly not over the top. mtoast, I owe you one!

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 24, 2006 Bottle split with after4ever. Pours a cloudy gold surmounted by a ring of foam temporarily held up by a handfull of bubbles. The aroma has plenty of funk, the "barnyard" and "horse blanket" descriptions are pretty close to the truth. Tastes a bit like lemonade made by someone who forgot the sugar. Dry finish. Kinda refreshing but probably not something I would seek out again.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 7, 2003 2002 bottling. Quintessential horse barn funk aroma, some wood, hay and bright citrus coming through. Medium golden amber color, no visible effervescence but a few tiny bubbles afloat. Tart, acetic flavors abound, some fruity white grape and lemon juice, with a musty, sharp, herbal, bitter, woody close. Light and tart on the palate, light-medium bodied. Much better as it approaches room temperature. This is the real deal. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 21, 2009 750ml bottle via trade a while back. Pours a clear (on the last glass very cloudy) glowing golden orange with 0 head. Nose of tart apples with citrus peels and farmhouse funk. Flavor was both sweet and sour, with a hint of oak in there. A very underrated Lambic. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 11, 2004 Deep golden in color with a slight haze and a small white lacing atop a body missing any appearance of carbonation.Aroma starts with apples, tart yet fruity, switching over to small oak tree farm, then moving into a musty, sweaty, damp basement with notes of acidity and spice with a vinous like German white wine charcater character reminiscent of a Piesporter. Flavor is as complex as the aroma,apples,oak,fruit,sweet/sour,tart,acidic. Palate is very soothing over my tongue as this ends with a nice crisp dry finish. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 13, 2006 Bottle 2005 vintage: Pours an orange golden color, with virtually no head and no carbonation. Aroma was sour, with some funkiness. Flavor had a lemony tartness to it, some oak. The mouthfeel was what really threw me off with this beer, the complete lack of carbonation gave it an almost wine like texture, with a very dry finish. It was just bizarre and took me a while to adjust to it. By the end of my glass I was starting to enjoy it, though I think I still prefer the blended lambics.
