Bottle is from 2003 and although it is only 4 years old at this point it is clearly starting to age quite nicely in comparison to the other bottles I have had of this. Excellent looking for an unblended. Very slight carbonation that is undetectable in the mouth but clear in the appearance. Especially after a swill. Dry, earthy aroma with serious barnyardy funk.Lovely citric notes and plenty of Cantillon barrel in there too. Incredibly dry in the mouth. Utterly excellent lambic. Heavily citric and sour. So very refreshing and drinkable. Almost wine like qualities. Palate cleaning attributes are nothing but superb. Prickle at the back of the throat leaves you wanting more. So bloody good. thewolf (5831), Kolding, Denmark

Pours hazy orange-yellow with no head. Aroma is fruity, funky, some egg-notes amongst apples and oranges. Very low carbonation, wonderful dry mouthfeel. Pleasantly tart flavour, lots of apple fruitiness, vanilla, lots of oak, barnyeard and hay. Super, dry finish. bu11zeye (5675), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 2, 2005 Original rating: Cloudy golden yellow, very hazy, no head. Sweet honey nose with strong brett profile. Kiwi, lemon, grapefruit and mostly pineapple make for a dynamic fruit salad. Horsey funk, salt, ink, lactic and big rubber tones make up for funk lovers. I couldn’t dig the flavor so much, plastic and rubber are a bit too dominant. I’m not one to complain about crap, leather and the likes, but I find no interest in plastic... Astringent and citric grapefruit/pineapple juice. Still body, juicy and funky. I expected more from my first unblended lambic experience.. Had a 2001 yesterday and once again, I’m a bit unimpressed. First, it’s not very pungent at all this time with nowhere near the acidity level I’m expecting in a Cantillon, this was a bit tart, moderately so at best and globally lifeless, not only in terms of carbonation absence, but also in its idiosyncratic constitution. It is very juicy, not as complex as I read and globally not so aromatic at all plus it doesn’t play much on subtlety. Perhaps it is a very variable beer, which could excuse part of it since it felt different and even less enjoyable than the first time during which I awarded it a 3.5. Aroma gives a little sours thistles, some metallic features and roses, at the start at once at room temp wet dog has a wee say also. . Taste is floural and sour, like eating a flower bed, with a decent amount of tartness, all are very delicate. This is such a simplistic beer its a masterpiece. One of the best beers iv had this year. RERATING: One of the best beers in the world by quite a stretch. Rerating again. Whole bottle in 10 mins at duff’s house. Ah what a beer! hopscotch (5549), Vero Beach, Florida, USA

Tons of fuzzy, dried fruits in the nose. A hazy golden hue. Very small, white creamy head. Good lacing. Teh flavor is very very tart up front. Lightly bitter and still very tart on the backside. Lemon, Grapefruit, woodsy and earthy notes.
Very dry mouthfeel with fizzy carbonation. Extremely dry and tart finish. I really liked this lambic, but it’s not for everyone. In the dictionary, next to TART and DRY, there is a photo of a bottle of this lambic. Lambic fans must give this beer at least one try.
