| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 15, 2001 This grand cru is 100% old beer, mine from 1997 - four years old. Headless, flat, sour and near hopless, this is a beer only it’s mother rather than a beer drinker should love. It’s taken me over an hour to get through the bottle and I must say it’s gotten better as it (and me) have warmed. The color is a shining burnt orange with a sour and grassy nose. The flavor is a complex sour grapefruit, and acetic acid with a slightly astringent finish. Though a brutal first bottle, I will definitely return. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 17, 2006 2004 bottle acquired in Secret Santa (Thanks Brandon). Pours out a brown yellowish color without a head at all. Figured the bottle was bad, but after reading reviews it seems that this beer has very little if any carbonation. Smell is oak, earth, apples, lemons, and tart sourness. Taste is pretty tart, and interesting. Fruits and some sweetness comes out. Not bad really. Not my favorite lambic by any stretch of the imagination, but its decent. Would be alot higher rated if it had some carbonation. shp555 (1691), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 5, 2008 2007 vintage bottle. Pours out with no pop when de-corking and no head at all. A vigorous pours sees some bubbles floating around. A cloudy deep yellow color. The aroma is a sour perfume-like and woody note. The initial taste is sour, but not anywhere near some of the others I’ve had, such as the Iris. Instead, a strong funky sourness is alongside a smooth and full sawdust flavor. As it warms a ton of flavor is released, mostly more wood infused sourness, some slight funky and citrus. Quite good. Something original and pure. Though it has no head, the body is somehow smooth and nice. It also goes down quite well. GG (1672), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 30, 2008 Pretty average here in terms of Cantillon. I’ve come to really adore the puckering dry sourness that I associate with Cantillon. This was a nice beer, albeit a bit boring for them. The aroma was lemony, horsey and quite suprisingly fruity. The flavor is almost delicate for Cantillon, which seems odd just typing that. Lemony, oak, citrusy twang, and funk. Not really up to Cantillon’s famous sour power, but still a very nice beer. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 2, 2007 Yellow-gold color with a small head. Aroma is pleasantly sour with hints of lemon, yeast, brett, and apple. Flavor is nice and sour - bretty with a pleasant bit of apple, lemon, and other tangy fruits. Wood flavors in there as well. Another tasty Cantillon lambic!
