Pale gold, no head, no lace. Dead flat. Hard to believe this is a beer. Nose inoffensive for a lambic, no real skunk or barnyard stink, just some sourness. Taste overwhelmingly sour and citrus, green apples. Actually quite enjoyable. Mouth dead flat, like apple juice. I really enjoyed the flavor, but the dead flat palate killed this for me. // Had draft. Slight head, slight moth feel. Worked a little better.

4 oz sample

I had the chance to try this at the Buckeye Beer Engine during a special sour ale sampling. It was worth every penny of the $3 I paid. Given the cost for a full 750ml I probably won’t be springing for one any time soon even if I could find it. Even so if I happen to run across this again I will certainly not pass it up.

Aroma / Appearance - The honey colored body was flat and lifeless. The scent of dry white wine tickled the nose along with an orange base, white grapes and an oaky base. For a lambic it was very gentle.

Flavor / Palate - The tartness was not nearly as strong as I thought it would be. Sour, dry and a little woody it was chewy and dense. As expected it did dry out the throat. Reminding me of a dry white wine it was excellent all the way to the final drop.

On tap at the Blind Tiger In NYC. Hazy, golden/orange color with almost no head. Tart, yeasty aroma of grapefruit, and sour apples. Flavor also sour, but not overly so. Hints of grapefruit and other citrus fruits along with a strange, but not unpleasant, copper taste. Finishes beautifully with a crisp, clean aftertaste. I wish I could get more of these beers.

750. Cork says bottled in ’05. Beer is clear, light, orange-gold in color. Small, white, frothy head rapidly vaporizes. The aroma is tart and warm, a little shy. Probably because the beer is still. Malty with light notes of toasted grain, cookie and caramel; Yeasty with light notes of attic/cobweb, plastic; Miscellaneous notes of moderate spicy alcohol, light notes of dried stone fruit, mead-like honey, sherry. The flavor is moderately acidic, lightly bittersweet with an average-length, lightly acidic, lightly bitter finish. The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is still.

Bottle opened by Douglas88, thanks for the brew mi amigo. You know, when you rate an Imperial Stout or an IPA you can draw from lifes experiences to describe the flavors or aromas.Hell, espresso, molasses, citrus, those are all things you can explain. But when a Lambic comes along and me being a city boy and never had a wet nasty horse blanket tossed drapped over my shoulders like Jeremiah Johnson might have, then how can use that as a descriptor? I do not know what the damn thing "smelt" like or even tasted like but it was a-fuckinging-mazing.

Shared bottle, thanks to CMUBEERMAN. Hazy yellow gold, thin white head. Aroma is funky, musty, tangy, sour, makes my mouth water. Flavor is super tangy and sour, almost salty---dough, bleu cheese, fruit. Delicious.

Pours clear, light, golden orange with absolutely no head and just about zero carbonation. Aroma: Sour, yeast, lots of wood, earth, sour grapes, almost wine like, unripened tangerine, dandelion, sweat, barnyard. Taste: Initially slightly puckering, sour, some acidic oak-like notes, almost citrus (lemon, tangerine, lime), has many characteristics similar to wine, vanilla, watery. I don’t like the complete lack of carbonation here; some carbonation would make this beer crisper on my palate, though maybe my bottle was just off by some chance. Sticky palate, finishes almost like you have a coating on your teeth and mouth. My first unblended and this is pretty good.
