(75cl bottle, vintage 2002) Slightly hazy, pale golden colour without a head. Sour and apple fruity nose with woody barrel-like notes and traces of brett. Sour flavour, oxidative slightly wheaty taste, apple fruity with traces of horseblanket; bone-dry and sourish tart, lasting finish. Refreshing Lambic, that reminds me somewhat of the best applewines from the Hessian Wetterau (12.03.08).

Bottled: Orange light hazy coloured. No head. Aroma is sour, woody, earthy and has some light fruitnotes. Flavour is very sour, almost citric. This is good stuff. Lots of earthy notes and in the end a sharpe grapefruit sourness.

Pours gold with some minimal carbonation. Smells of tarte lemon, farmyard funk, dust, oaky and perfumy. Tastes of tarte lemons and not overly sour which was a little surprising. Some underlying hints if earthiness emerge throughout the drinking. Mouthfeel is light and airy with the finish a nice refreshing tarte lemonness that lingers forever. This is a truly amazing beer I wish I could drink every day.

Very cloudy golden yellow beer with light carbonation and a thin head. Intense funky horsey aroma typical of Cantillon. Bright citrus, acetic, and lactic acidity in the nose. Musty and dusty aroma. Flavour is much less sour than the aroma would have you believe. Nice tangy flavour, some green apple, a touch of woodiness and a nice sharp acidic finish. Very tasty and well-balanced.

Bottled at RBESG-06, GTN. Hazy, golden beer with some white bubbles around the rim. Sour aroma with apples and not much else. Nice though. Apples, lemon and sourness in the flavor. Thin body. A bit boring, but good. (060826)

Orange in color and clear in the glass beneath a big white head. Spicey peach aroma. WOW, what a sour punch... very different than the aroma. Big dry sourness everywhere, with an earthy grit flavor mixed in with a medicine-like peach. Quite thick and dry. Excellent.

Vintage 2002: Hazy yellow with no carbonation and a slim home for a head, this has a sour, musty, moldy aroma - - quite full of acid and rotting odors. To me this is interesting, not desireable. The taste is a funky, sour lemon with dust. The finish is face-puckering. As I said, interesting...

Young bottle (2003). Lightly hazed golden liquid with a lid of a few big bubbles. Dandelion, ragweed, mild citrus, yogurt and light stewed raisins float about in the aroma. Smooth palate. Mellow flavors of light malt, touch of wood and hopsack, and a little must. No doubt this will be much better in 10 or 15 years.
