It was not as tart and complex as other lambics, even the regular Cantillon. It may have had a bad cork. When I pulled the bottle cap off that was over the cork, I could see beer bubbling out from around the cork. But I am not sure if this would affect it, as it also had the bottle cap sealing it. And it had lots of carbonation and a good head. Anyway, how the heck do you tell if a lambic is bad??? argo0 (6907), Washington DC, USA

Taste is lightly sweet and quite sour, fruity (mostly white grape but also some orange). Comparable to a slightly carbonated, quite dry white wine. Holdwine (908), Beertimore, Maryland, USA

Very light carbonation. Sourness is wonderful with a glimpse of apricots. All of this wrapped up in a slightly woody package. Grerat beer! skortila (2905), Bunnik, Netherlands
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 27, 2004 yeah... This beer is my number 1000! :) I finally made it. Let’s quite rating and just drink the best top 50 beers... hehe... no way. Well about the beer. It sure is a unique brew. Bottle 2001. Aroma is very winey (red wine according to my girlfriend, I’m not really into wine..), grapes, citrus and some oak. Hazy, orange coloured with no head at all. Just a few large bubbles when I poured it into the glass. Taste is initially very smooth and winey-sweet. Not too dry. Tartness evolves from middle towards the finish. Quite sticky. Oak, mostly in finish/lingering taste. Some hints of vanilla in the beer. Could be lactic too. Very enjoyable lambic, but imo a little too sweet/sticky. I like the more dry lambics better. Offcourse this is a beer I never forget. :) notalush (2668), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 4, 2006 Pours a flat, cloudy golden color - musty and almost "musky" aroma, along with white wine, wheat, aged cheese - the three years in oak have given an extreme woody flavor to the beer - light bodied - only moderate sourness - wheat flavors, white grapes - funky, cheese-like brett flavors near the finish - oak remains throughout - a little thin, but interesting. But, then maybe the the expectations are just too darn high. Mine for this beer were sky high, I was then disappointed, then when I sat back and thought, I realized it was still a good beer. Very, very soft with soft oak and soft grapefruit. This Belgian was still. But overall, it had a very good flavor with very light sour notes. For a Grand Cru aged 3 years in oak..... I would rather have bought a Rodenbach for 5 bucks cheaper. bobaidan (364), Farmington, Connecticut, USA
