Lots of sweaty stale hops to go with the horseblanket and vinegar up front. Acidic and very dry of course, fresh and vital with notes of oak and lemon juice. Typical Cantillon beer. There is nothing here I don’t love. The complexity paired with the enormous refreshing qualities of gueuze. sayravai (3771), Helsinki, Finland
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 4, 2009 (Bottled) Almost opaque golden with a small, partly lasting head. Tart and fruity aroma wiith a touch of bordeaux. Flavor is pretty much standard Cantillon Gueuze with wheaty maltiness, vinegary sourness. Medium body, dry and astringent palate, soft carbonation. Like most other Cantillons: a very enjoyable brew, but not much different from the regular one. TBone (6844), Pori, Finland

Golden color, not much head. Tart gooseberry aroma. Very tart, but fruity flavor. I can’t trace cognac, maybe some tannines from Bordeaux barrels. Close to normal Cantillon gueuze. Pleasant beer... oh6gdx (9065), Vasa, Finland
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 4, 2009 Bottled (thanks fonefan!!!!). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is yeast, sour wood, some slight vanillaish notes. Flavour is quite wellbalanced sourness, wooden and mild notes of fruityness. Not that killing tartness/sourness. Easy to drink and quite mellow. Dickinsonbeer (3499), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 14, 2009 Thanks to Brad for sharing. Pours a very light golden with a nice frothy head and good carbonation. Aroma is tropical fruits and funk with hints of pineapple brett, light horse, mineral- lemon zest, white wine fruitiness, light tannic hints, and grapeskins and as it warms a bit more cognac comes through which reminds me a lot of 50N- good balance in blends. Flavors are also tropical blending with oak, vanilla nd cognac , tannic barrels and grapskin must, slight sufur hints,. chardonnay hints lemon lime- and a nice prickly acidic finish- light acetic, lots of lacto and even a tartaric sharp grapey sour warhead tinge on the end of the tongue. Great refined gueze- and very well blended to get a bit of the cognac and the wine. Awesome! ChristianScheffel (4662), Odense, Denmark
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jun 12, 2009 Cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma has a lot of grapefruit, funk and wood. Very acidic, but smooth and easy drinking. Lots of Cantillon funk, but a very elegant beer. henrikb (1303), Aarhus, Denmark
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 7, 2009 37,5 cl bottle - Beautiful deep very lightly hazy straw golden body wit ha big beautiful white head that disappears a little to fast; Beautiful super crisp and fine nose, very nice citrus aromas that are maybe not given enough space by a little to much Cognac barrel; Very mellow and soft body, soft in texture and in carbonation, very deep and super interesting; Only a very little acid in the finish, super mellow finishing crisp and dry. Excellent beer, but somehow it is to mellow for me, like it is brewed for a person that shouldnt be overwhelmed by the taste of "Real Geuze" MaxxDaddy (263), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jun 6, 2009 Bottle @ DHVL. Easily THE beer of my Belgium trip. Pour orange with a light white head. Aroma is full of luscious oak, and grapes. You can really tease out the barrel elements of this one just from the aroma itself. Truly amazing and complex. Taste is lemon, more oak, wine/grapes. So much going on here, way more than any other gueuze I’ve tried previously. Lingering sourness in the finish. A wonderful beer and it’s scary to think hat this will probably close to 5.0 good in a year or two.
