Very acidic, but smooth and easy drinking. Lots of Cantillon funk, but a very elegant beer. henrikb (1305), Aarhus, Denmark
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 7, 2009 37,5 cl bottle - Beautiful deep very lightly hazy straw golden body wit ha big beautiful white head that disappears a little to fast; Beautiful super crisp and fine nose, very nice citrus aromas that are maybe not given enough space by a little to much Cognac barrel; Very mellow and soft body, soft in texture and in carbonation, very deep and super interesting; Only a very little acid in the finish, super mellow finishing crisp and dry. Excellent beer, but somehow it is to mellow for me, like it is brewed for a person that shouldnt be overwhelmed by the taste of "Real Geuze" MaxxDaddy (263), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jun 6, 2009 Bottle @ DHVL. Easily THE beer of my Belgium trip. Pour orange with a light white head. Aroma is full of luscious oak, and grapes. You can really tease out the barrel elements of this one just from the aroma itself. Truly amazing and complex. Taste is lemon, more oak, wine/grapes. So much going on here, way more than any other gueuze I’ve tried previously. Lingering sourness in the finish. A wonderful beer and it’s scary to think hat this will probably close to 5.0 good in a year or two. Blisscent (73), East Providence, Rhode Island, USA

Another fantastic Gueuze made for J&J, and oddly enough, the Helena is very much in line with the excellent balance of both Blauw and Roze. Will peak in as little as another year or two. The Crianza Helena biggest notes are citrus, lemon, grapes, excessive wood, dry tart, and the overall sophisticated Gueuze flavor. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA

The aroma was very nice. Dusty, earthy, tart, leather and some wine. the flavor was fairly tart with citrus taste and some sweetness on the finish. Acidic in the throat. Woody flavors with a light vinous/liquor taste on the very tail end. Light-medium bodied. Rciesla (3845), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Funky leather citrus, effervescent, woody vinous qualities and a light wild yeast and in great balance. BrianK (190), Livingston, New Jersey, USA

Of course. Rating #3600, by the way. JEEE ZUSSS this is a great beer! Hazy gold pour with a small creamy white head, swirls around lasciviously in the glass, like it knows something, the sour trollop. Big, big big ragged/jagged lanonlin/lemon funk nose-smash, really clears out the sinuses, unrecognizable raw green treefruit, incredibly yeasty - massive; MASSIVE. The taste - right on the heels of that aroma - even moreso, lemon, funk ... just brill, words failed me, I drooled on my notebook ... powerful, how the hell does a 5% ANYTHING smash a velvet-wrapped brick through your skull? This is even pretty thick-bodied, incredibly acidic, only mildly carbonated - it finishes in its own sweet (okay, sour) time, and leaves you wanting to weep that the glass and bottle are empty. Stunningly good. Really. I licked my glass.
