Commercial Description:
A new brew concocted by Jean Van Roy to celebrate the 2003-2004 Division III title for the local Union St. Gilles football team and its upgrade to Division II.

Cuvee des Champions is not a traditional 'gueuze,' in that it is made from only two year-old 2001 lambic, not from a blend of older and younger lambics. It is also dry-hopped in the cask for three weeks with fresh Styrian Goldings hops. Re-fermentation in the bottle is achieved with the addition of a small amount of candi sugar.

Vibrant bubbly orange-yellow pour. Thin white head. Funky sour vinegar flavor with lots of earthy notes. Woody and earthy flavor. Very sour, though not quite as much as Cantillon’s regular geuze. Interesting.

Bottle. Pours a golden body with a white head. Tart citrus acidic with some funky notes. Grapefruit mouth puckering lightly woody with a tart finish. Awesome brew with a light lactic acid character. A great brew.

750ml bottle at Novare Res. Could it be, my new favorite beer?! This is friggen amazing stuff. The dry hopping gives it a nice hoppy aroma in the glass in addition to the aged hops, and wild yeasts its a wonderful nose. The flavor is heavenly, sour, sweet, and tangy. This is a perfectly put together beer, a bottle I’ll never ever forget.

Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
Pours hazy golden with a great, staying creamy, white head. Quite impressive for a gueuze. Aroma is funky, lemons, wood, oranges, vanilla and a slight peppery edge. Medium carbonation, great dry mouthfeel. Lovely tart, some lemons, funk, good dryness, orangse, wood and green apples. Sets itself apart from other gueuzes by being a) milder in tartness, b) lower in apple flavours, higher in citric flavour. This makes it far more drinkable for me than, say, Belle-vue Selection (which is more or less apple vinegar). Very nice, very balanced and incredibly drinkable.

750ml Bottle (Bottled 1/10/06): Aroma of tart fruit, light funk, slight orange, acid, Brett, slight fruit nectar, and oak. Poured amber/gold/orange in color with a tiny white head that lasted around the edges. Cloudy. Sparkling. Full of small particles throughout. Flavor is very tart. Tastes of tart fruit, pineapple, candy, oak, apricot, tangerine, wood, slight candi sugar, slight funk, and a hint of hops. Light to medium body. Thin, dry texture. Average carbonation. Tart, puckering, fruity, oaky finish is dry.
