Pours hazy golden with a great, staying creamy, white head. Quite impressive for a gueuze. Aroma is funky, lemons, wood, oranges, vanilla and a slight peppery edge. Medium carbonation, great dry mouthfeel. Lovely tart, some lemons, funk, good dryness, orangse, wood and green apples. Sets itself apart from other gueuzes by being a) milder in tartness, b) lower in apple flavours, higher in citric flavour. This makes it far more drinkable for me than, say, Belle-vue Selection (which is more or less apple vinegar). Very nice, very balanced and incredibly drinkable. Aroma is hay, dry citrus and "old cellar like", typical Cantillon.
Flavor is mostly dry dusty acidic grape, with hints of pine, and it has a strong tart finish.
Not as harmonized as the others Cantillon I have tasted, its to acid. plovmand (1736), Helsinge, Denmark

Nice golden color, sports a white head but quickly becomes semi-still, smells like a hint of cobweb, tastes wheaty and sour lambic, citrus, especially sour lemons. Funky a bit but very drinkable, some cheese, I like it.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 18, 2009 Pours a bright golden with a lasting, half glass full, egg shell head. After it finally subsides, the nose is huge with tart citrus, barnyard funk. The flavor is a bit more mellow, but follows the aroma. Lively mouthfeel.
