Commercial Description:
A new brew concocted by Jean Van Roy to celebrate the 2003-2004 Division III title for the local Union St. Gilles football team and its upgrade to Division II.

Cuvee des Champions is not a traditional 'gueuze,' in that it is made from only two year-old 2001 lambic, not from a blend of older and younger lambics. It is also dry-hopped in the cask for three weeks with fresh Styrian Goldings hops. Re-fermentation in the bottle is achieved with the addition of a small amount of candi sugar.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Color is orange tinged gold with a fine off-white head. Aroma is slightly citrus sour over mild light stone fruits. Near medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is citrus, a bit sour like rind, and imaginable funk. A bit puckery. Finish is astringent and lightly fruity. After a long time it’s like grapefruit (flavor not hop).

750 ml bottle from La Cave å Bulles, Paris. One of the smoother Cantillons, and maybe appeals due to the upped hops content. Citrusy nose, decent thick white head, sparkling to the tongue. Like a fine Champagne in taste, but without so much fizz. Pucker inducing sour. One of the best gueuzes, and even slightly experimental.

This light gold beer poured with a miniscule off-white head and a sour fruity aroma. The flavor is considerably more sour and citrusy than I expected since candi sugar was added for the refermentation. However, this is a fine gueuze that tastes suthentic even though it is unblended.,

Bottle from Plan b @ EBF. Hazy light golden, no head. Rose hip aroma, sweet mango and little mead. Baby food fruity flavor, mango and passion fruit, nice soft tartness, very easy to drink. Maybe not as crisp as I’d like, but very enjoyable fruity Gueuze.

Bottle shared by iowaherkeye, not pepsican. Poured a hazy golden-yellow color. Attractive aroma of funky white wine vinegar and lemon. Light bodied with mild acidity that peaked at the end. Tasted of tart apple, lemon, lime, and vinegary leather sandal. I never thought footy sandal could be such a pleasant flavor until I tried this beer.

Medium yellow coloured. Hazy. Has a white head, mostly lasting. Aroma of acid, sulfur, lightly acetic acid. Flavor is heavy acidic. Dry texture. Moderate astringent.

Bottle. It was my birthday today, and I had this while eating oysters at an oyster farm north of san fran; it was a really nice experience. Cloudy yellow-orange pour with some white head. Aroma is lemony tartness with a little bit of funk. Very citrusy. Flavor is the same, reminds of RR beatification, but not quite as good. Small amount of sweetness in the finish. It’s a good beer on a warm day. I also put a little bit of it on an oyster that I cooked; it was pretty tasty eating.
